Ah Pia. How is it you are writing just what I am battling with myself. I think we are on a similar journey. So looking forward to reading and getting glimpses of those convoluted conversations tinged and tainted as they are. Perhaps I will learn a bit about myself to share as well.

Alyice,
Thank you for your comment! My initial thought had been to define process as you wrote: "the process as what inspired the next step." Even when you have a plan in mind, there are instances where the drawing/painting take over, and a brush stroke leads your thoughts (or hand) in a certain direction that you hadn't planned.
But what intrigued me, and got me thinking, about your comment is that the process "as in technique" can also apply. Do you as an artist write down your techniques with the mindset that those notes can become public, or do you decide to keep those techniques for yourself? Sometimes I am so overjoyed with a new technique that I am happy with the result, keep going with the drawing, and can't remember fully the new technique once I'm done.
There is also a third possibility, in where the process of creating one piece of art can change your mindset or your thinking, or open the possibility to future artwork. Even though this kind of thought pattern will not be evident in the current finished piece, it becomes part of your overall process as an artist.
Thank you for giving me something to ponder!

PS: your random acts of kindness blog entry is quite thought provoking!

Are you saying the process as in technique, or the process as what inspired the next step? I suppose I'm a bit confused as to what you're suggesting.
