Within calmness lies the foundation of self-confidence, of being assured of one’s own personality regardless of the place or situation.

Several stories began to take shape, and the flow to certain bodies, certain scenes appeared on the sketchbook pages.

For the time being, I am happy donning my painter’s t-shirt, getting my fingers all sticky with paint colors, pushing paint around, seeing how it cooperates – or not – on the canvas.

The neon colors were outside my comfort zone. I worked tirelessly with whites to try to tone them down – yet was I being counterproductive?

It’s 9pm, Saturday night. I’m sure there are more interesting and exciting things to do at this time of a weekend night – but I’m painting.

The sketches from last week were waiting, simmering, strengthening themselves in my mind and in my hands.
